dentists are coming
this
winter to treat the street children of metropolitan Trujillo.
The leader of dentists, Dr. Tom Jones, invited by, David Miller of Hogar
de Esperanza, came to make all the necessary arrangements.

Training
our Volunteers
Teaching professionals from the National University, Social Services,
Psychology, the Boiy Scouts and the Fire Department participated in a
two day seminar, training our volunteers.

Birthday
Party: April
The last day of April we threw a large birthday party for
all our children in the central city facility who had their birthday during
the month of April..

Night
at the Ballet
The balley company headed by ex street kid and now one of Peru's leading
dancers Eusabio, held their final rehearsal at our dance academy.before
performing a stunning night of ballet at the Municipal Theatre. |

Final
Preparations
for
the coming visit of the First Lady
who comes to Trujillo to inaugurate our virtual education center and to
become Godmother of S.O.S. Peru..

.Transition
Lic. Carmen Salinas,
director of our social services department,
has been doing such an outstanding job that it was only a matter of time
before a large company discovered our gem and offered her a good job -
well that's what happened the end of April. Carmen is still a volunteer
with us, but the children will not get to see as much of her as before.
We welcome, Lic. Maria Nuñez, our
new director of social services (Recruited by Carmen her last day on the
job), is proving a very compertent replacement. . Our friends,
German y Lupe and their family have returned to their home in Esperanza.
We all miss this happy loving family. Their responsibilities of lookinging
after the children oif the Orphanage, of cleaning and of opening the kitchen
in the morning and lightiung the fires have passed to Matilde y Eve.
